How to distinguish between acrylic and PC composite sheets?

PC board is also called PC endurance board, chemical name is polycarbonate, impact toughness (the first of thermoplastic), high heat resistance, cold resistance is also very good, bending resistance, tensile strength is equivalent to nylon, High elongation and modulus of elasticity, good dimensional stability, wear resistance comparable to nylon, corrosion resistant, high transparency, but prone to cracking. Commonly used in the production of gears, bearings, colorless and transparent PC can be used to manufacture aircraft, car windshield.

Both are transparent plastics. In the case of the same thickness and the same raw material particles, the acrylic plate is 2-3% higher than the PC transmittance, which is close to 90%, which is not easily distinguishable by the naked eye. But the two are due to two kinds of materials after all, the difference is four different:

1.Heat resistance, temperature resistance, weather resistance: Acrylic sheet is easy to soften when it reaches 70 degrees, and PC is 120 degrees, so PC is more resistant to temperature and heat, and the working temperature is wider.

2.Impact resistance, tamper resistance, strength index: the same thickness, PC impact strength is 30-50 times that of acrylic sheet, 6 mm starting PC thick sheet is bulletproof material, 3 mm PC board is not suitable for ordinary adults. broken.

3.Flame-resistant, fire-resistant: PC is a flame retardant material, belonging to Class B flame retardant (UL94-V2 grade internationally), one of self-extinguishing plastics, not easy to burn, and acrylic sheet is not flame retardant.

4.Environmental protection: PC belongs to environmentally friendly plastics, and acrylic sheets have some physical properties, so some areas in foreign countries have already eliminated the application of acrylic sheets, and domestically will gradually become popular.
