Acrylic display stand has two polishing methods, you know?
As the most popular display props, acrylic display racks are also very high in processing requirements. What polishing methods are used in the daily processing of acrylic display racks? Or what are the polishing methods for the acrylic display stand?
Today, I will share with you the method we used to polish the acrylic display stand.
Method 1: Manual Polishing
When grinding by hand or semi-mechanical, it is mainly sandpaper or abrasive belt, because the belt or sandpaper is softer when grinding, the shape is good, and the contact area is larger when grinding, heat and heat dissipation are good. . Not only does it increase productivity, it has good grinding quality, but it can also be applied to the development of shaped surfaces. When rough grinding is used, a large amount of abrasive is used. For fine grinding, a small grain size abrasive is used, and it is also necessary to perform cooling when grinding, usually using water as a cooling liquid.
When the acrylic display frame is hand-polished, it should be attached to the polished surface with a fine felt or a cotton wool ball with a polishing wax at a pressure of about 5~10N, and then uniformly spread along the speed of 100~120r/min. The length of the machining is linear, and usually 1 to 2 mm per second. Do not concentrate too much on a certain polishing site during this process, as this will cause local friction to overheat and process the depression. In addition, it should be noted that the wax on the polished surface should not be too dry, and attention should be paid to the lubrication.
Method 2: Polishing wax polishing
Polishing wax is one of the most important and critical process materials when it is used for acrylic polishing. Because polishing wax has the advantages of high polishing speed, high smoothness and long service life, it can also change the quality and operating environment of polishing. For example, if the acrylic is polished with a rare earth polishing wax, it can be completed in one minute. If the polishing is performed with an iron oxide polishing wax, it takes 30 to 60 minutes to polish the acrylic. Rare-earth polishing wax has improved the polishing efficiency because of its chemical mechanical action principle. Therefore, rare earth polishing wax has become the first choice for the material used in the acrylic display polishing process.
The difference between polishing and grinding is that the polishing does not change the dimensional accuracy of the workpiece. It can only remove the fine lines and stains on the acrylic display stand, improve the surface finish of the acrylic display stand, and reduce the haze. Until the gloss of the mirror is obtained, a polishing wax is added between the polishing wheel and the machined surface at the beginning of polishing.
